The Airport Operations department keeps operations at our airports running smoothly through planning, organization and supervision.

Job overview and responsibilities

Cross-organizational leader responsible for directing AO performance management team on key projects from development through implementation in support of the overall AO Strategy as it relates to ramp and baggage. Provide overall guidance in the design and build phases of new technologies, policies or procedures to wide variety of field and senior leaders.

  • Support of projects aligned with AO's overall ramp and baggage strategy

  • Guide the development of requirements for new systems, technologies, and policies or procedures based on input from field leaders

  • Ensure field leaders are well-versed, supported and adopted to new tools or policies

  • Lead and direct the AO ramp and baggage performance team supporting real time data analytics and network operating initiatives

  • Provide senior leaders with operational performance metrics both in real time and for post debrief

  • Support group management activities, including career guidance and leadership development

  • Drive the company's MBR performance


  • Bachelor's Business Administration, Project Management, or similar or equivalent operating experience, and/or a comparable balance of education and experience

  • Expert knowledge of Airport Operations

  • Strong knowledge of baggage systems and procedures

  • Advanced presentation skills

  • Advanced team building, coaching and development skills

  • Advanced innovation, strategic decision making, project management life cycle (PMLC) skills

  • Advanced negotiation and collaboration skills

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, SharePoint, Spotfire

  • Intermediate technical publication, and data analysis and building skills

  • +5 years field/airline industry experience

  • +3 year managerial experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • MBA

  • Data warehouse knowledge

  • System knowledge of BOLT, EZCare, World

  • Intermediate skills in Data Analytics and associated Data Management Systems such as SAS, Spotfire, COGNOS

  • +7 years Airport or Station Operations experience
