Job overview and responsibilities

Staff Representative - Flight Operations- Supports the Manager - Flight Operations Manual(FOM) and Worldwide Operations Manual(WOM) by assisting in authoring and maintaining the manuals required to operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulations.

  • Assists in the content, format, editing, regulatory compliance and technical accuracy of the Flight Operation Manual (FOM) and the Worldwide Operations Manual (WOM)

  • Reviews, drafts and edits FOM and WOM content under the direction of the Manager - Flight Operations Manual

  • Communicates information received from international agencies and stations with appropriate departments, divisions, and line pilots concerning changes relevant to the operation

  • Reviews Advisory Circulars, Federal Flight Standards Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, safety and regulatory directives, and provides policy and procedural recommendations to the Manager - Flight Operations Manual and Worldwide Operations Manual

  • Investigates all inquiries, complaints, and violations received from foreign regulatory agencies in conjunction with Safety and Regulatory Compliance and responds accordingly Maintains a record of all inquiries and responses

  • Creates visual representation of records for presentation to necessary working groups

  • Reviews OpSpecs changes to ensure incorporation and compliance

  • Supports operational initiatives and programs with appropriate Flight Operations departments and operational divisions.

  • Organizes and moderates regular meetings at the direction of the Manager – Flight Operation Manual/Worldwide Operation Manual

  • Assists in reviews and audits of Flight Operations policy and procedure against new regulatory compliance documents and provides draft policy and procedural recommendations

  • Works with Technical and Publications writers to produce graphics as required to support document revision activities

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree; 2-3 years of equivalent work experience Military, commercial pilot, instructor pilot

  • Experience drafting, coordinating, vetting and distributing policy and procedural information

  • Regulatory compliance background - demonstrated use of FARs, Advisory Circulars, SAFO, FAA Notices and other FAA documentation to develop policy and procedure

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities intra-divisional and cross-divisional to assure the proper implementation of policy and procedure

  • Airline pilot experience or formal education with an aviation base

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Experience in writing, managing, editing and revising corporate manuals

  • Commercial Pilot with Instrument Rating or greater
